Narrow, steep, unsafe, or missing stairs? We design, build, and install any staircase. Straight, L-shaped, U-shaped, spiral, or floating. Wood, steel, glass, or mixed materials. Code compliant. Beautiful.

What's included

Initial assessment – Measure existing space (or empty space for new stairs). Check headroom, tread depth, riser height, landing requirements.

Design consultation – Style: straight, L-shaped (quarter-turn), U-shaped (half-turn), spiral, curved, or floating. Material: wood, steel, aluminum, glass, cable rail, or combination.

Engineering (if needed) – Load calculations, stringer sizing, handrail height, baluster spacing. We provide stamped drawings for permits.

Permits – We handle all city paperwork (required for new stairs or modifications).

Demolition (if replacing) – Remove old stairs. Haul away debris. Keep existing stringers if reusable (saves money).

Framing & structure

  • Stringers – Cut from 2x12 lumber (wood stairs) or steel channel (metal stairs)

  • Supports – Posts, columns, or wall-mounted brackets

  • Landings – Framed and braced at turns or between flights

  • Treads – Solid wood, metal grate, stone, or composite

  • Risers – Wood, metal, or open (floating style)

Materials (your choice)

  • Wood – Oak, maple, walnut, cherry, hickory, pine, or reclaimed barn wood

  • Metal – Steel (painted or powder-coated), aluminum, stainless steel, wrought iron

  • Glass – Tempered glass panels (with or without handrail)

  • Stone – Granite, marble, or limestone treads

  • Composite – Trex or similar (for outdoor stairs)

Railings & balusters

  • Handrails – Wood, metal, or cable (continuous on both sides if required)

  • Balusters – Wood (square or turned), metal (rod or picket), cable (stainless), or glass

  • Wall handrail – For stairs against wall (one side only)

  • Code spacing – Balusters no more than 4" apart (child safe)

Tread finish

  • Wood – Sanded, stained, sealed (polyurethane) – three coats

  • Metal – Primer + two coats paint or powder-coat

  • Stone – Polished or honed (sealed)

Lighting (optional) – LED strip under each tread, stair riser lights, or step lights in wall.

Landing & transition – Flooring matching at top and bottom (transition strip included).

Cleanup – Dust collection during sanding. Remove all debris. Vacuum area.

Final inspection – Check each tread for squeaks, each baluster for wobble, handrail for firm grip. Load test if required by engineer.

What's NOT included

  • Moving load-bearing walls to create stair opening (separate service)

  • Elevator or chairlift (we can refer you)

  • Carpet installation (we can coordinate)

  • Drywall repair beyond stair opening (included in new opening up to 10 sq ft)
